Traffica was engaged by Auckland Transport to install signalised a pedestrian crossing on Manukau Road in Epsom which is a busy four-lane road with two dedicated bus lanes.
Carrying out the works on this project required close collaboration with Auckland Transport around the closure of bus lanes so we could safely carry out the works with minimal disruption for buses and bus users. Works were staged across different times of the day and night which enabled us to complete the works within the required timeline with the least impact on the public transport system.
The scope of works on this project included breaking out the concrete pavement, installing of signals ducting, reinstating concrete pavement with steel dowels drilled into existing pavement, installation of traffic signals poles and chambers, upgrading existing footpath, removal of existing bus shelter, installation of new bus shelter, installation of high-friction surfacing, along with associated road marking and signage.
