Traffica conducted work to upgrade and improve safety at the busy intersections of Great South Road, Manukau Road, Marks Road, and Alpers Avenue in Newmarket.
This project for Auckland Transport included installation of new traffic signals and 3.5m wide pram crossings which catered to the heavy foot traffic from the local high schools and facilitated a safer environment for all pedestrians and motorists. All work was staged carefully to be outside of peak times and business hours so there was minimal disruption to traffic and road users. We utilised our in-house teams and specialist equipment to conduct work on this project including traffic management, traffic signals, civil works, asphalt crews, TMP design and approval, hydro excavations, sucker truck, concrete trucks, and transporter.
Work included removal of the slip lane from Great South Road to Manukau Road, construction of new footpaths, pram crossings, asphalt resurfacing, kerb and channel buildouts re-using bluestone kerbs, new catchpit and lead with connection to existing stormwater assets and installation and commissioning of new traffic signals.
This project required close collaboration with Auckland Transport and trusted subcontractors to successfully deliver this project in the required timeframe with minimal disruption to local business and road users.
